What is Pirelli World Challenge

Tired of having to sit through over four hours and 500 miles to see who the winner will be? And then with five laps to go, watch as the eventual winner takes the lead through a quick pit stop!

Or... not sure who is driving the car or who is winning what class?

Sports Car Wars! This is How Racing Should Be!

The Pirelli World Challenge is one of North America's top production car-based racing championship. Divided into four classes (Pirelli World Challenge GT, Pirelli World Challenge GTS, Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car, and Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car B-Spec) races follow a sprint format and are 50 minutes start to finish. It's literally a Sports Car War!

Each race features thrilling standing starts, adrenaline filled door-to-door action (zero scheduled pit stops!), and top-notch drivers including series vets Lawson Aschenbach, Andy Pilgrim, Randy Pobst, Johnny O'Connell, Peter Cunningham (recognized as the all-time winning North American professional road racer) and Michael Galati and young guns like Alec Udell, Shea Holbrook, Michael Cooper and Tristan Herbert.

Drivers pilot cars from the world's most popular manufacturers. Race prepped versions of the cars we drive on the streets!

GT features platforms like the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, Corvette C6, Ferrari F430, Volvo S60, Nissan GT-R, and Porsche 911 GT3. The GTS class features platforms like the Chevrolet Camaro, Acura TSX, Ford Mustang, Kia Optima, and Porsche Cayman S. Touring Car features platforms like the Honda Civic Si, VW Jetta, and the Mazda3. The new Touring Car B-Spec class features platforms like the Honda Fit, Mazda2, Kia Rio and the Mini Cooper.

The Pirelli World Challenge is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing and races at North America's premier road and temporary street courses. And all races are broadcast on NBC Sports Network or streamed via www.world-challengetv.com.

The World Challenge competition was born in the mid-1980s with the SCCA Endurance Championships, transforming into the World Challenge in 1990.

If you are a motorsports junkie, you'll love watching James Sofronas, Mike Skeen, Jason Daskalos and the rest of the highly skilled drivers from the series flog their modified production cars in 50-minute adrenaline-filled sprint races!
